London

Once a Roman city, once the chief city of a world empire, London has celebrated and endured invasion, fire, regeneration, plague and war. Its triumphs have shaped the world, its innovations have changed nations. London is a world city whose stature, history and society are legendary. And it would be impossible to understand this history, these innovations and this society without reference to its Christian heritage.

Christian Heritage London

Christian Heritage London exists to draw attention to the advances of Christianity made in this city and to commend the claims of the Christian gospel.

Based in the heart of the city at St Botolph-without-Aldersgate, we are within half a mile of locations key to true giants of church history. Among others, in 1738 John Wesley’s life was changed either near or on the site of the building, and in the 1930s Dietrich Bonhoeffer led a congregation in a church building across the road.

We are delighted to introduce visitors to the stories of people like them: people who, having been blessed by the gospel, blessed London. We do this through:

  • Walking tours
  • Tours of museums and art galleries
  • Talks and courses on various aspects of Christianity
  • Concerts and cultural events
  • An education programme for churches, schools and other organisations
  • Our visitor centre at St. Botolph-without-Aldersgate

Dr. Ravi Zacharias

"The positive impact throughout the ages that the Gospel has had in Britain and beyond is all too easily forgotten. Christian Heritage is playing a vital role in bringing this history to life, communicating just how profoundly Christianity has influenced Britain in all walks of life. Their tours are a fascinating insight into the legacies of so many Christian martyrs and those whose faith led to remarkable transformation within society and culture."

- Dr. Ravi Zacharias, Founder and President of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM)

The Servant Queen

The United Kingdom recently celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday. The Servant Queen and the King she serves is the beautifully illustrated story of the Queen's faith in Jesus Christ. In the foreword, the Queen asked the nation to put her trust in God. Quoting her father, King George IV, Queen Elisabeth II wrote:

I said to the man who stood at the Gate of the Year
"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown"
And he replied "Go out into the darkness, and put your hand into the hand of God"
That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way."
.

We would be happy to send you a copy of The Servant Queen and the King she serves with your donation to The Christian Heritage London.

Greg Koukl on Christian Heritage London

"Doing a tour with Christian Heritage was an eye-opening experience for me. Right in the heart of downtown London, wedged between massive buildings of steel and glass, are relics from the past that tell a rich and inspiring story for followers of Christ. When I realize the price paid by fellow believers to protect our “ancient words” and to proclaim the truth of Christ’s cross, I am humbled and encouraged at the same time. The British Museum tour was even more fascinating. There, right before my eyes, were dozens of artifacts explicitly confirming important details of Hebrew history recorded in the Old Testament. If you make it to London, don’t miss taking a Christian Heritage tour. You will not regret it."
